FRESHMEN + FREEDOM IS GOOD!

Well you made it through the first week and a half and I bet you discovered that it was not as freaky as you thought. It really is just more of the same except you are the one totally responsible for yourself. No one will call your momma if you miss class and no one will take you car keys if you stay out to late on a Tuesday night. A few things to consider…

1) READ through the entire syllabus for each class…it could save your neck!

2) GO TO CLASS everyday…this is appox. 60% of your academic success!

3) PLAN SOMETHING FUN…reward your good study habits with a good time away from campus!

Speaking of FUN…

Chi Alpha(XA), Campus Crusade, Intervarsity and Higher Definition are hosting a unified time of worship for all Christ followers to participate in this Friday night, Sept 11th at 7pm in SUB Ballroom A. This is not a time of hype or high tech but a sincere time of surrender and exaltation to Jesus Christ.

Also, XA is hosting a Hip-Hop Concert in the basement of the XA house (1212 So. 6th, across the street from Roberts Hall on the east side of MSU campus). It starts Saturday at 7pm. Dress in Ghetto Gear because this will be a great show!

Fall Retreat…..

This is one of my most favorite times of the year. This years Fall Retreat will be at Camp on the Boulder in beautiful McLeod, MT. It starts Friday, Sept 18th and ends at 1pm on Sunday, Sept 20th. The food is great, the camp is perfect, the worship times will stir you, the message will impact you and the fellowship will make you smile. The lodging, food, registration and snacks for two days are provided for only $70 for the whole weekend. Please register with us ASAP!

Who we are

Chi Alphans are college students committed to seeking the face of God. We desire to know God and make Him known at Montana State University. We meet at the Chi Alpha House located across the street Roberts Hall on the east side of campus. Our main meeting is called Paradigm 755 and is charged with music, given to humor and challenging with a relevant message from the Bible. We also have many small groups throughout the week that gather many places on MSU campus. All of our meetings are opportunities for students to meet God, each other, and the needs of the community.

Our name

Even though our name suggests it we are NOT a fraternity or a sorority.

Our name comes from the Bible. The Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:20, We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. Inspired by this verse we chose the phrase "christou apostoloi," meaning "Christ's sent ones," to represent who we are. The Greek letters Chi(X) and Alpha(A) are the initials of this phrase, which reminds us that we should live to reflect Jesus' life.

Mission

Our mission is simple: we desire to reconcile students to Christ, to transform our university and then send those students out to transform the marketplace and the world!

We do this by creating a true community of worship, prayer, discipleship, and evangelism/mission. We value Integrity, Servant Leadership, Excellence, Community, Diversity, and Creativity.

Ministries

There are several ways for you to get involved in Chi Alpha. We have ladies, men’s and co-ed Bible studies, worship with drama and music, campus and community evangelism, weekend outreaches, Bible classes taught by XA staff, seminars, conferences, mission trips, retreats, international student friendship, and so much more.
