Laugh a little…or a lot!
Do you ever get the feeling that your in over your head? Classes assignments are piled high, finals are pressing you, money is running short, can’t sleep well at night from all the stress? It is enough to make a student want to quit school forever, pack up and go home.

Instead of freaking out by yelling at your roommate as you tear up his/her term paper to relieve your stress, let’s laugh for a while. Find something in life that is light hearted and humorous, go to a funny movie, look up some jokes online, stop and watch others as they freak out…it can be funny. If you don’t want to laugh, well, I can’t help you. Far be if from me to force you to smile. But if you think you can laugh and smile for a while consider a few things that things that drive you nuts, yet laugh instead.

  • Even if you never speed or roll through that stop sign, the one time you do, a policeman will be watching.
  • No matter how dedicated and hard you have been working on your figure, your friend will show up with a dozen donuts, a two litter of pop and a movie, late one night and need you to “just be with them”…enjoy the extra lbs!
  • Every time you try to sleep in, construction will start that morning outside your window.
  • When you take your car to the shop to have “that noise” checked out, your car won’t make “that noise”.
  • When you get home from the party where you had been flirting with that “one guy/girl” that you have been praying to Jesus to make them like you, you realize you have string of cilantro from the salsa you ate stuck in your teeth.
…..It is better to laugh than to stress.

Who we are

Chi Alphans are simply college students commited to seeking the face of God. We desire to know God and make Him known at Montana State University. We meet in the new Chi Alpha House located right across the street from campus. These meetings are opportunities for students to meet God, each other, and the needs of the community.

Our name

Even though our name suggests it we are not a fraternity or a sorority.

In the Bible, the Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:20, "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God." Inspired by this verse we chose the phrase "christou apostoloi," meaning "Christ's sent ones," to represent who we are. The Greek letters Chi (X) and Alpha (A) are the initials of this phrase, which reminds us that we should live to reflect Jesus' life.

Mission

Our mission is simple: we desire to reconcile students to Christ, to transform our university and then send those students out to transform the world!

We do this by worship, prayer, discipleship, evangelism, and mission. We value Integrity, Servant Leadership, Excellence, Community, Diversity, and Creativity.

Ministries

There are several ways for you to get involved in Chi Alpha. We have girls and guys bible studies, worship with drama and music, dollar dinner friday, mission trips, retreats, international student friendship, and so much more.
