Jesus said “…unless you change and become like little children you will never enter into the Kingdom of Heaven”(NIV). The other day had gone to the back room of our apartment to take some time to read. I was pondering on the devotional I had just finished about taking opportunities that God gives us and not missing out on the good things in life. The author of the devotional wrote of opportunity knocking at our door and we must be alert enough to notice and wise enough take the opportunity. Just as I was asking Jesus to help me be aware of opportunities knocking, my 18 month old daughter knocked on the door gently and said “Daddy?” in her innocent, inquisitive voice. In that first moment I almost said “not know Adelyn” but then it hit me. Opportunity was knocking! I had just finished a 5 day stretch of 11 to 15 hour days. It seemed I had not been home except to sleep and I had not spent more than 5 consecutive minutes with my daughter. I quickly got up and seized the next few hours as playtime with her. I have learned a lot from Adelyn, like how she always wants to be with me. It is like what Jesus said…”become like little children”, I want to be more like Adelyn and simply want to be with my heavenly Father.

Who we are

Chi Alphans are simply college students commited to seeking the face of God. We desire to know God and make Him known at Montana State University. We meet in the new Chi Alpha House located right across the street from campus. These meetings are opportunities for students to meet God, each other, and the needs of the community.

Our name

Even though our name suggests it we are not a fraternity or a sorority.

In the Bible, the Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:20, "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God." Inspired by this verse we chose the phrase "christou apostoloi," meaning "Christ's sent ones," to represent who we are. The Greek letters Chi (X) and Alpha (A) are the initials of this phrase, which reminds us that we should live to reflect Jesus' life.

Mission

Our mission is simple: we desire to reconcile students to Christ, to transform our university and then send those students out to transform the world!

We do this by worship, prayer, discipleship, evangelism, and mission. We value Integrity, Servant Leadership, Excellence, Community, Diversity, and Creativity.

Ministries

There are several ways for you to get involved in Chi Alpha. We have girls and guys bible studies, worship with drama and music, dollar dinner friday, mission trips, retreats, international student friendship, and so much more.
